The INUK PhilosophyDeep in the Canadian Artic, one of the most isolated places on earth, a people has survived for thousands of years—the Inuit. Their rich, complex, and sophisticated culture has thrived for over 4,000 years. In summer, the sun never sets on the tundra. In winter, the sun’s rays light up the snowy landscape for just a few hours each day. Come sundown, the Northern Lights put on a one-of-a-kind show. This is the land that inspires Inuit art. Colorful, with decorative detailing and fur accents, Inuit clothing reveals close ties to both the earth and the animal kingdom. Both beautiful and practical, it represents the Inuits’ magnificent heritage. History In summer 2007, INUK was born. Since its launch, the INUK collection has been a hit with Canadian retailers. The company’s desire to maintain the authenticity of its products led to a partnership with Eva Papigatuk, an Inuit designer. Today, INUK is proud to introduce the fruit of this collaboration—its 2010 collection. Mission INUK is dedicated to creating and retailing clothing and accessories that evoke traditional Inuit dress. INUK clothing is designed to withstand harsh Canadian winters without sacrificing traditional style. It’s just the thing for when the mercury drops, and features an array of colors, decorative symbols, and fur accents that reflect its rich Inuit heritage. |
